Temple Micah is a moderately sized, Reform congregation in the heart of Denver. We pride ourselves on our intimacy and warmth. We are a progressive synagogue, blending contemporary thought and creativity with tradition. Our emphasis is on learning and doing; we believe the ethics and beliefs of our history prompt us to repair the world (tikkum olam) today.
Micah is a spiritual home for a very diverse congregation. In today's complex world, many seek a community in which to open our souls to the Divine and to make our values live. We believe there are many ways to serve God, ranging from study and prayer, to deeds of loving kindness and tzedakah in our community, to working to better our City, country, and the world.
You're invited to join us in our worship on Friday nights, Saturday mornings, and for all Jewish holidays. We think you'll enjoy our participatory style of Judaism. Congregants conduct many of our services, and we consciously strive to eliminate the distance between the bimah and the congregation.
We have tailored our schedule of religious services to accommodate the needs and desires of our members. The schedule is varied, including Shabbat services on some Fridays; services on some Saturday mornings; and occasional Havdalah gatherings on Saturday evenings. Some services are especially intended for families with children; other services are adult-oriented.
We encourage you to tour our facilities, chat with our members, and participate in our special programs, including adult education, holiday celebratios, community projects, Jewish cultural events, and Religious School activities.
As you read about Temple Micah, we hope you sense our pride and uniqueness. Our style seems traditional, but our thought is decidedly progressive. We're taking responsibility for our own Judaism, and we're excited about it. And, best of all, we're small enough to know and care about each other.
